We aim to make consumer financial markets work for consumers, responsible providers, and the economy as a whole. We protect consumers from unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices and take action against companies that break the law.

File a complaint about a financial product or service
Each week, we forward over 100,000 complaints about financial products and services to the appropriate companies for review and response. If another agency is better suited to handle your issue, we’ll redirect your complaint and notify you.
Most companies provide a response within 15 days.

Reaching out to them is often the most effective first step. The company can provide answers tailored to your specific situation, clarify details about the products or services you received, and address any concerns that may require information only they have access to.

In accordance with applicable laws, we securely share complaint data with relevant state and federal agencies to support:
We also make complaint data publicly available—excluding any information that directly identifies you—through our Consumer Complaint Database.

Each week we send thousands of consumer complaints about financial products and services to companies for response. Data from those complaints helps us understand the financial marketplace and protect consumers.
